About the Teenagers

Most teenagers have a mixture of moods and emotions – growing up is hard to do!

Teenagers in care have usually faced a lot of challenges and their behaviours and feelings about themselves will often reflect this. But they also have a lot in common with other teenagers. They are bright, funny, cheeky, loving, loud, untidy, late and moody. In other words, there’s never a dull moment!

All the teenagers are “looked after” by Scottish local authorities. Some will never be able to return home and your task will be to support them through their teenage years until they are ready to take the next step. Some will successfully return to their own family. A small number have become pregnant at a young age and they need lots of help and support to care for their babies.
